for JOCs every Monday at 5pm ET and Tuesday at 7pm ET
Join Rabbi Heather on Mondays and Rabbi Sass on Tuesdays for Parasha Study, a weekly drop-in space where JOCs can dive deep into learning the beauty of Torah, share their unique and inspiring takes on the week's Parasha (Torah portion), and build community.
Embracing Darkness: Torah Wisdom for Longer NightsJoin Rabbi Bobbie Rosenberg to learn about the Jewish wisdom found in the shadows. We'll learn warm Torah for these long winter nights, and come away with a deeper appreciation for the spiritual significance of darkness.
Torah Together: An Evening of Joy, Food, and Wrestling with AngelsCome gather with Ammud: The Jews of Color Torah Academy for a night of creative storytelling, soulful stagecraft, and delicious dinner. We'll learn, laugh, and lift each other up—celebrating the magic of JOC Torah and the truth that Torah belongs to us. Come meet new and old friends as Ammud launches programs in L.A. The memorable evening will be led by Rabbi Sass Brown, Program Director at Ammud, and rabbinical student Rebeca Carrillo, Ammud's Rabbinic Intern.
JOC Family Chanukah Celebration in partnership with the EDCJCCJOCs and their families are invited to our third partnership program with the EDCJCC, the JOC Family Chanukah Celebration. There will be food, crafts, and kids-activities. These programs typically attract families with kids ages 0-9, and anyone in your JOC family is welcome!
Keep Singing! 8th-Night Hanukkah Candle Lighting and the Many, Many Verses of “Maoz Tzur”MIcro-Rest for a Big Reset: Expanding a Women’s Ritual of Hanukkah Rejuvenation Why does this classic Hanukkah song have so many, many verses? Does anyone know them all? Ammud Ambassador Rav Tiferet does! Come learn about the history of this classic song, and spend joyous time with JOC community. The program will end with candle lighting together for the last night of the holiday. JOCs are invited to bring their partners and loved ones to Ammud holiday programming.
Can 30 minutes of complete rest provide deep rejuvenation on these cold, short days? An ancient women’s custom on Hanukkah says yes! Join Rabbi Bobbie Rosenberg to learn about and practice this Jewish ritual of micro-rest, and take away accessible tools for a Jewish reset. Folks of all backgrounds and genders can learn from this Jewish women’s wisdom. We’ll end with candle lighting for the 8th night of Hanukkah.
